Rumours of Google’s plans to merge ChromeOS into Android mean Apple’s tablet dominance could be challenged. But what about existing Chromebooks?
Google’s Android operating system has had great success, with around 70% of smartphones using it worldwide. ChromeOS, on the other hand, only accounts for around 2.5% of the market. Google has sold millions of Chromebooks but the company has struggled to break into the high-end tablet market. Roughly one in three owners use iPads.
