W5100S-EVB-Pico
Les Pounder wants to add another device to the Internet of Things. “Just a ‘pico’-sized project from WIZnet,” he promises…
IN BRIEF
A reasonable £10 gets you a Raspberry Pi Pico with a builtin Ethernet jack. It’s an easy-touse board for the maker who wants their Pico-powered projects on the internet, collecting data and controlling devices via a remote connection. The board shares the same formfactor as the Raspberry Pi Pico, but is 24mm longer thanks to the Ethernet jack.
WIZnet’s board provides the same functionality as the Raspberry Pi Pico, but with the added reliability and functionality of Ethernet.
The RP2040 is the brains of the board – adual-core CPU running at 133MHz with 264KB of RAM. The W5100S is the TCP/IP controller enabling us to connect to a network.
