Fancy a micro-ATX Pi Pico running Rust OS?
It’s what the world has been crying out for, right?
When the Raspberry Pi Pico was first released we don’t think anyone was planning to use it as a desktop PC. How wrong we were! Behold the Neotron Pico project: a Pi Pico controller soldered to a desktop micro-ATX motherboard. Jonathan Pallant started designing his board in April 2021 and reached the prototype stage by July.
The motherboard offers VGA video via a D-Sub, digital 16-bit 48KHz stereo audio via a triple 3.5mm jack, PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports. The video and audio is generated using the Pi Pico’s state machines. Additional board management is provide via a separate ST Micro STM32F0 controller, which handles other motherboard duties including poweron/off/reset sequences, board voltage monitoring, PS/2 port interfacing (so they’re available at POST) and handles addressing for the additional SPI expansion ports.
