ABOUT THE BOOK
Hi Jenni, how are you? What are you sewing on your Janome machine this week?
I am currently quilting a Small version of the Blake quilt in my book Quilting with Liberty Fabrics. I'm using solid fabrics and it is really bright and colourful.
What do you look for in a sewing machine, and in particular a quilting machine?
My requirements in a sewing machine have developed over many years as I have become more confident as a maker but mainly I want them to be reliable and not overly complicated to figure out. I have gone from a Janome QXL605 to the M7 Continental and I have taught students on many different models in between butthe basics still feel familiar and that makes it much more enjoyable. As I work a lot with Liberty Tana lawn, which is a fine fabric, I find the HP footplate an essential, and a large throat space is wonderful and stops my muscles aching due to excessive quilt wrangling.
