Apple has long enjoyed a reputation for strong privacy and regularly adds features to protect user data. That’s why it might be surprising to learn that the firm has settled a $95 million lawsuit amid claims that Siri listened to users without their consent and that Apple sold the resulting data for marketing purposes. However, Apple has denied the claims, saying that it settled to “avoid additional litigation so we can move forward from concerns about third-party grading that we already addressed in 2019”.
