It took a little longer than expected, but Apple treated us to some amazing new products in March: the M4 MacBook Air, an updated Mac Studio with M4 Max and M3 Ultra, a new £329 entry-level iPad (which now has an A16 chip) and the M3 iPad Air. We’ll be putting the Mac Studio with M3 Ultra and the M3 iPad Air through their paces in our June issue, but turn to p84 of this edition and you’ll be able to see what we make of the MacBook Air and the new iPhone 16e in this month’s in-depth reviews. We also investigate the chances of a big-screen iMac on p16.
But if you’re not upgrading just yet, turn to p20, and you’ll discover some of the amazing things your existing Mac can do. In this month’s lead feature, you’ll discover 85 tips, tricks and secrets to help you go further with Sequoia (or any other version of macOS you’re currently running).
Then on p62, we head into the garden, where you’ll find some brilliant gadgets to help light your way, keep your grass in trim and keep you, your friends and your family entertained. And while you’re chilling out with a glass of Pimm’s or two (other beverages are available), you can feast your peepers on the evolution of the Apple Watch (p70), discover the best portable desktop drives for making those all-important Time Machine backups (p78), and the best apps for planning your next trip away (p96).
Enjoy the issue, and don’t forget to tell us your thoughts by writing to letters@macformat.com. We love to hear from you!
