Rival apps deliver forecasts. Carrot Weather laces its offering with snark and threats. High winds? The perfect excuse, it’ll say, to lob a cow through your window.
But Carrot is more than a gimmick. The app has become hugely customisable, with the iPad layout being particularly powerful. It can display up to three columns, effectively turning your tablet into a personal weather station. Of course, you might own an actual weather station – or have one nearby. In which case, you can have Carrot Weather draw from its data by going into the app’s settings (gear icon), heading to Source > Personal Weather Stations, and selecting the relevant station.
