GENIUS TIP
To use a podcast, replace Play Music in step 4 with Play Podcast, then choose a show from the list. This will play the show’s latest episode.
IF YOU STRUGGLE to get to sleep some nights, a relaxing podcast or chilled–out music playlist can do wonders for your ability to drift off. Yet the problem is that once you’re asleep, your device keeps playing, potentially wasting battery life if it’s not plugged in. And if your podcast gets to an exciting bit at 3am? You can be sure that’ll jolt you out of bed. The solution is to create a sleep timer. This lets you start your audio routine the same way you always do, but will automatically halt the playback after a set duration of time. There’s no need for you to wake up and stop it, so you get all the benefits of a peaceful bedtime without any of the worry of being woken abruptly.
