A bite of the Apple

CHROME IS A BETTER CITIZEN Many users like Google Chrome because of its extensive features and tight integration with Google services. It’s also very stable because each tab runs as a separate process, but this makes it very resource–hungry. The latest updates to Chrome 110 on macOS should use less resources and consume less battery power, thanks to two new features. Memory Saver automatically suspends inactive tabs, reloading automatically only when you visit that tab again. Energy Saver will kick in when battery drops below 20 percent and will “limit background activity and visual effects for websites with animations and videos.” There’s also an option to turn this feature on automatically whenever your laptop is running on battery power.
