SureFire Kingpin M2
A dependable mechanical keyboard for $50?
WHEN IT COMES DOWN to computing, the keyboard is (in most cases, literally) your right-hand man. Your typing instrument of choice needs to be reliable, comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, and a strong performer. Not every keyboard is going to tick all of these boxes, especially when it comes to the budget end of the market, but the SureFire Kingpin M2 looks promising. So, how many boxes does this full-sized mechanical model tick?
The first thing we picked up on when testing was the weight. Weighing in at 2.25lbs, it feels sturdy and well put together. Unless you want a portable wireless keyboard, this extra weightiness is an added benefit as it keeps the board from sliding around on your desk. That’s handy because the rubber feet on this keyboard are pretty small. Next to the feet, there are two small kickstands with only one level of adjustment. It’s a reasonably comfortable angle but would benefit from a wrist rest for a less strenuous experience.
