HEAVY AS IT may be, SOM’s expansive blend of shoegaze and post-rock is also wonderfully soothing – even more so with the elaborate light show that spreads out from behind them and pans over the audience, making their set feel like a meditative experience. But they’re not totally inconspicuous; frontman Will Benoit frequently voices his gratitude and excitement, thanking both the audience and the bands that will follow them tonight.
