Hardcore royalty get their melodic death groove on
Featuring ex-members of Bloodlet, Integrity and All Out War, you’d expect End Reign’s debut LP to be full of stompy, beefy hardcore. And while they can’t help themselves from slamming into a big fuck-off beatdown now and again, The Way Of All Flesh Is Decay has far more in common with classic, warp-speed melodic death metal than meat’n’potatoes hardcore. The riffs are savage, the solos blistering, the drums manic, but it’s former All Out War man Mike Score who steals the show with his John Tardy-meets-Peter Tägtgren glass-gargling growl. The end result is a very surprising, and very super, supergroup. ■■■■■■■■■■
