Model Engineer | No. 214 Vol. 4504
Something for everyone as we look at model making in large and small scales: the 6 inch scale Garrett 4CD continues as Chris Gunn tackles the crankshaft assembly and, at the other end of the scale, Martin Ranson starts a new series making a simple little 16mm scale live steam locomotive for his garden railway. Away from steam, Ron Wright teaches us about the intricacies of exhaust manifolds in I/C engines. Two full size locomotive builders are featured as we continue with a look at the history of the Hunslet Engine Co. and then across at a German manufacturer, Henshel & Sohn. It’s interesting to compare the similarities in their approach to standardisation. Alan Crossfield makes beautiful nameplates for his Patriot and Martin Wallis concludes his look at the 2014 rally season.
