WHILE ANOHNI’s roots are in New York’s early-’90s performance art scene, creating surreal weekly plays as co-founder of cult drag-punk collective Blacklips, she enraptured a wider audience with 2005’s I Am A Bird Now. Releasing LPs with The Johnsons and solo – among them 2009’s The Crying Light and 2010’s Swanlights – the English-born singer-songwriter has also worked with (early champion) Lou Reed, Björk, and disco project Hercules And Love Affair.
