One of the easiest things you can do to change your depth of field is to move your subject closer or further away from your background. The greater the distance between the background and your subject, the larger your discs of bokeh will be. You’ll manage to capture bokeh at values of f/2.8 or f/5.6, but a super-wide aperture of f/1.8 or f/1.4 will really exaggerate the blurry discs. Background bokeh will also become more prominent the closer you get to your subject, but physically moving your subject gives you more control over your composition.
