CHRISTMAS BOKEH
Open wide
Depth of field
The aperture is a circular ring inside your lens that opens and closes to let in varying amounts of light. How wide or narrow the aperture is affects the depth of field. A wide-open aperture, like f/1.8, lets lots of light in, and creates a shallower depth of field and a shallower area of focus. A narrow aperture, like f/11, lets less light in and creates a deeper depth of field and a larger area of focus. Aperture Priority mode lets you select the aperture value while the camera automatically works out the shutter speed, so you get a correctly exposed image. For this project you’ll want to use a wide-open aperture to create super-shallow depths of field and large discs of bokeh.
