Oban’s First Steps Day Nursery at Croff Road and Little Learners’ Nursery at Dunstafinage are joining together to host a safe sleep education session today, flurs day.
The free session is being led by Scottish Cot Death Trust volunteer Liz Miller. The trust has existed for 35 years, supporting families affected by the sudden and unexpected death of an infant or child of pre-school age.
Since the Back to Sleep campaigns of the late 1980s and early 1990s numbers of Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI) have drastically reduced. However, a baby still dies suddenly and unexpectedly every nine days in Scotland.
