Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has come out top in a report to measure participation rates among young people aged 16 to 19 in education, training or employment.
The annual report is used to assess progress in the delivery of Opportunities for All, the Scottish Government’s commitment to young people in Scotland.
Councillor Angus McCormack, chairman of the comhairle’s education, sport and children’s services committee, said: ‘This is very welcome and encouraging news.’
