THE SALE of the Caledonian Hotel, on Oban’s seafront, is ‘imminent’ but was not yet finalised at the time of The Oban Times going to press.
It is understood the 44 members of staff employed at the hotel will be required to be transferred to the employment of new owners under European legislation. Staff say they have been told their jobs may be under threat.
The hotel is likely to close for six months while a refurbishment of the 59-bedroomed premises takes place.
