KILCHATTAN primary school pupils on Colonsay spent a day as chemists when classes given by the Edinburgh Science Festival toured the Hebrides.
CalMac sponsored the Generation Science workshops, which try to make science fun and link with the Curriculum for Excellence, on five islands over the past three months, in cluding Coll and the Small Isles. Colonsay’s workshop, called ‘Fizz, Boom, Bang!’, gave the children a basic insight into the colourful and explosive world of chemical reactions.
