So began the 170th annual Islay, Jura and Colonsay Agricultural Show, on a rainy Thursday last week, on clatchy fields by Islay House, Bridgend. ‘There are umbrellas for sale,’ the tannoy continued, ‘or, as we call them on Islay: modes of transport.’
