Thousands of pounds raised at a charity concert in April have been handed over to Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie Cancer Care. Neil ‘Nonny’ MacInnes and his wife Karen, landlords of Coasters in Oban, raised £14,000 from their third charity concert, We’ll Walk This Road Together, in the Corran Halls. The line-up featured Manran, Skippinish, Trail West, and local band Ceol An Aire, and 100 per cent of the 750 ticket sales were donated to the charities. Two cheques worth £6,000 were presented each to Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie Cancer Care at Coasters last Friday, and a third cheque for £2,000 will be given to Oban Hospice. The couple set up the DMI Cancer Trust, having seen members of their family struggle with the disease. Nonny thanked everybody who contributed.
