Sir,
Your correspondent with the pseudo Gaelic names (Arra Mac a’ Phearsain Mac Gill’ Fheisteir, The Oban Times, November 17) writing in support of Gaelic road signs states ‘that there isn’t a significant cost implication for adding the Gaelic’.
Clearly this is nonsense as every road sign in Scotland had to be replaced to achieve this aim. If they really wished to promote Gaelic, it might have been better to spend this money on Gaelic education rather than confusing our tourists with unhelpful Gaelic signs.
