AN AMBULANCE was left hanging over the side of a narrow bridge in Kilchoan after a crash while responding to a 999 call.
One witness described the scene as something out of The Italian Job after the emergency service vehicle was involved in a collision with a Mini Countryman on the B8007 near Glenborrodale on Tuesday June 20.
Resident Geoffrey Campbell, who witnessed the collision, said: ‘The ambulance was heading to Kilchoan to attend to an emergency and met a car on the bridge. Fortunately, no-one was injured but the Mini went backwards through the bridge wall and the ambulance ended up balanced on the other wall in an Italian Job pose.
