Only a few weeks after we ran a story on a man who had his hopes of moving into the Tweeddale flats development on Fort William High Street dashed because of potential difficulties using the lift, a resident has raised concerns with the Lochaber Times about the recently opened properties.
Again, the lift situation has come in for criticism, however, perhaps more worrying is the fact the secure door at one of the blocks of flats is not shutting properly, meaning tenants now have people loitering in the halls - one man had a sleeping bag and a ruck sack - with others drinking, smoking and leaving cigarette butts and empty cans on the carpet. Youngsters are also having to be moved on because they are able to come in and play in the lift.
Also concerning is that while an early morning flat fire was dealt with promptly by the emergency services, and no-one was injured, the alarm continued to go off for more than three hours after the fire, despite a call to the council for someone to come and deal with it, only to be told that staff start work at 9am and it would not be dealt with before then.
