Call to name and shame delivery companies

PARCEL delivery charges are at least 30 per cent higher on average for Highlands and islands addresses, according to a report published this week by Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS).

The situation worsens for residents living on islands who are asked to pay more than 50 per cent extra than the rest of the country. For parcels in the 20 to 30kg category, the average delivery cost for Highland customers was 23 per cent higher than that of city consumers. And for the heaviest weight category, such as white goods and televisions, the delivery cost was found to be up to four times as expensive for Highland residents than those living in urban areas.
