Having delivered excellent mid-range tablets in the One Plus Pad and its two sequels, OnePlus has now entered the budget tablet battle with the Pad Lite. Compared to the OnePlus Pad 3 (see issue 371, p62), much has been cut down to reach the sub-£200 price point, but OnePlus has made some smart decisions on where to drop the spec without wrecking usability or performance, to the extent that this is still a fine device for everyday use.
For a start, the physical design isn’t a million miles away from the more premium model, with an all-aluminium construction in a two-tone blue metallic finish. While it’s comparatively heavy for an 11in tablet at 530g, it feels robust and resilient in the hand. It’s IP42-rated for dust and water resistance, which is unusual for mid-range tablets, let alone budget devices.
