Do you know how much power your monitor consumes? A safe bet is 20W to 30W at a comfortable brightness – around 200cd/m2 in an office – yet the 24in Full HD Eizo FlexScan FLT can work happily on 6W. Switch to Eco mode and that cuts in half to 3W, but the screen brightness also drops to a dim 99cd/m2 so I wouldn’t recommend it. So watt, you ask? The answer is that when rolled out across an office, where you’re replacing hundreds of monitors, there will be a measurable drop in power consumption without any loss of functionality. Almost as important, it plummets to 0.27W in power save mode.
All this means the FLT is the first monitor to qualify for the EU’s “A” standard for energy consumption. It also meets TCO Certified Generation 10 and EPEAT Climate + standards. There’s plenty more here for companies concerned about their ESG policy: the housing is made from 95% recycled plastic, reduced packaging means it consumes 42% less greenhouse gases during transit, and Eizo guarantees no conflict minerals in its supply chain.
