Use the RGB histogram to ensure colours aren’t ‘clipped’
OBVIOUSLY ONE of the main ways to make more impact with colour in your pictures is to make it the main focus. There are numerous ways to do this, including going the minimal route and letting one or two colours predominantly fill the frame, or using the white balance trick to add a colour cast to the whole image to change the mood.
