The RF 15-35MM F2.8L IS USM lens is capable of capturing a phenomenally wide view – 1mm more than the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM doesn’t sound a lot, but it’s noticeable with ultra-wide lenses
It isn’t just the speed, quality and features of the latest EOS R bodies that can help to improve your photography – the innovations introduced in the RF lens range can make a real difference too.
Canon has taken two approaches with the RF lens range: either maintaining the same level of quality as the equivalent EF lens, but packing more features in, or producing a lens that just hasn’t been possible before. Take the Canon RF 15-35mm F2.8L IS USM for example. It’s almost identical in size to the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM, if 50 grams heavier. But it goes 1mm wider, packs a 5-stop Image Stabilizer and has a Lens Control Ring that can be customized with various camera settings for quick adjustments on the fly. While you may not notice a difference in the end result (the EF version is a class act when it comes to that sought after edge-to-edge sharpness).
