Italy’s island of sun, sea and serenity
Vegan in SARDINIA
WHY SARDINIA?
It’s fair to say that I’m slightly obsessed with Italy, so a mid-summer trip to Sardinia wasn’t exactly a hardship. The second largest island in the Mediterranean (just behind Sicily), Sardinia, as it turns out, is a hotbed for beautiful beaches, amazing city culture and stunning scenery, not to mention the simply delicious local cuisine.
BEACHES AND BARS
These two come under the same heading as a lot of the time they’re in the same place – unlike the murky brown beaches of England, heading down to the shore in Sardinia means guaranteed sun, sea, sand and beach bars. There’s plenty of water activities for the adventurous type, including snorkelling, jet skiing and boat trips around the island. We took a boat tour around the edge of the island, to a series of amazing coves, including the famous Devil’s Saddle, and stopped for swimming at secret beaches, only attainable via boat.
