Globally renowned aquascaper, YouTube celebrity, Instagram influencer and author, George is a plant expert.
I‘VE BEEN friends with Ady Myers since the early days of the UK Aquatic Plant Society (UKAPS), founded in 2007, where he still remains a highly active member and moderator on the society’s forum. Of course, when I happened to be in the local area visiting Horizon Aquatics, an aquascaping specialist store, I took the opportunity to invite myself into Ady’s home, with the express intention of photographing and documenting this wonderful two-year old aquascape.
It is without doubt one of the finest examples of a long-term nature aquarium that I have ever seen in the UK, and I’m grateful for this opportunity to share such a great aquascape with you.
The installation
The aquarium Ady has used is a low-iron glass (for improved clarity), rimless Evolution Aqua Aquascaper 1500 with the oak finish cabinet.
It fits into Ady’s living space seamlessly, accompanied by a framed aquascape print and a schooling fish ornament hanging above. Additional houseplants add to the ‘nature’ aesthetic of the living room, as do other smaller aquascapes and terrariums in the fringes of the room.
