…Private Eye’s editor is notoriously football-averse. Only someone ignorant to footie terms could have tried to poke fun at ex-footballer turned pundit, Karen Carney, in including her entirely accurate comment viz “You’ve got to get them through the door before the window shuts” as a Colemanball (Letters, Eye 1656)!
The window in question is the well-understood shorthand for footballer transfer window, and as such Carney is speaking total sense. It is nonsense to include it in Colemanballs!
