Risk (noun): the possibility of something bad happening. Example: in this business, the risk and rewards are high.
Prog should at its core involve taking risks, pushing boundaries and flirting with new sounds and styles.
For Kyros, Celexa Dreams does exactly that - and judging by the smörgåsbord of sonic flourishes, the risks were well worth taking.
“This whole album felt very risky,” vocalist and keyboard player Adam Warne reflects.
“It felt like: let’s try something that is different stylistically from the previous album, but also not as safe in terms of the progressive music context and scene.
“On a surface level you could put this album out there and it would maybe have an appeal to the wider, outer depths of the music scene beyond prog.”
