Welcome…

‘Never meet your heroes’, so the old saying goes. Obviously, in this day and age, that should probably be changed to ‘never Zoom-call your heroes’, but I’d like to raise an issue with it, whatever the medium. This month, for our cover interview, I had the pleasure and privilege to speak with podcaster, journalist, novelist and now non-fiction writer extraordinaire Elizabeth Day. And it was genuinely one of the loveliest conversations I had had all month. Day is a highly intelligent but also incredibly gracious – and grateful – woman, who has been thrust into the limelight through virtue of her incredible talent and brilliant attitude. That she was brave and open should have been no surprise given her track record, but the honesty and vulnerability she showed was an eye-opener to me. I know it’s not really letting you peek behind the curtain if I tell you that someone is just as lovely as you would hope they were – but I hope it’s reassuring nonetheless! Turn to her interview (page 14) to find out more.
