Without doubt the biggest development in carp fishing was the invention of the hair-rig. Over the years we have messed about and tweaked it, but in reality a standard hair-rig with a good bait and a sharp hook presented in the right spot will catch nine times out of ten. Like anything in carp fishing, fish learn by association, wising up to rigs over the course of a season, and we are always looking for that ‘wonder rig’, which we all know does not exist!
