Born in 1926 as Jacques Mahé de la Villeglé, the French artist Jacques Villeglé has had a long and varied career.
With his fellow members of the artists’ group Nouveau Realisme, which he joined at its inception in 1960, he rejected the beauty of art and drew his raw materials from detritus of civilization.
