With the deadline of August 23 fast approaching, Oban Communities Trust is inviting everyone interested in buying community shares to do so now. Eleanor MacKinnon, project facilitator, said: ‘We have been overwhelmed by the tremendous support already given. We would urge accommodation providers and businesses to dig deep in this final week to contribute since The RockTheld Centre will benefit them enormously.’ A business breakfast was held yesterday (Wednesday August 15) at the community huts to outline the plans and the vision for the centre’s future to the town’s businesses. Tours of the main building will be off ered this final weekend with everyone welcome to come and see what the building will off er Oban residents and visitors. The RockTheld Centre will be a place for all the family to enjoy – a community and creative hub that will appeal not only on a local level but as a national destination which will extend the tourist season for everyone. The project is being heralded as the most important in Oban since Atlantis Leisure was founded.
