NARROW GAUGE
SUMMER STEAM
June 14/15 saw the 7¼ inch gauge Moors Valley Railway host its Grand Summer Gala. The biggest event of the year for the railway, it featured an intensive service on the one mile route, with eight locomotives in steam each day. Pictured at Kingsmere on June 14, privately-owned 2-4-4T Julianna, visiting from Eastleigh Lakeside Miniature Railway, was rostered for passenger duties on both days of the event. On the right, with a consist of box vans, is fellow 2-4-4T No. 17 Hartfield. Built at the MVR in 1999 by Martin Colbourne, it sees regular service on the railway.
