FAVOURITE SYSTEM: SNES, PlayStation, PS2
COLLECTION WORTH: “£100,000 would be a conservative estimate”
This month’s collector has a bit of a surprising origin story, as he bounced off his first system, a Commodore 64. “I think I just found the actual kit quite hard to use when I was maybe seven years old,” says Richard Ellis. “My parents realised the mistake, I kept asking for videogames still but I didn’t like the videogames on my C64. I used to play on a Mega Drive in Comet, and that ended up being my proper first console.” After some years enjoying games like Sonic 2 and Street Fighter II, Richard sold up and got a SNES, which would open his eyes to the joy of RPGs.
TERRANIGMA
“I managed to find a brand-new copy sealed for a tenner years ago, I found out this mail-order shop was selling them off. I’ve kept it in really nice condition.”
