Arcade Paradise
Andreas Firnigl on combining arcade gaming with laundry
»[PC] Andreas told us one of Arcade Paradise’s biggest challenges was “making something for modern audiences”.
» Andreas Firnigl is CEO of Nosebleed Interactive and has big plans for Arcade Paradise.
Youwouldn’t think that a combination of running a launderette and managing a growing arcade business would be a recipe for success, but Nosebleed Interactive’s Arcade Paradise proves otherwise. Nosebleed’s CEO and founder Andreas Firnigl explains how the unlikely pairing came to be.
Where did the idea for Arcade Paradise come from?
Originally we were pitching a racing/RPG hybrid. A CARPG if you will. Because it was a game full of loot and other stuff, we had a bunch of unlockable games in it. I was showing our prototype to [Wired Production’s] CEO. They’d just released a racing game so couldn’t really sign it, but they really liked it, especially the arcade games you could unlock. “Why don’t you just do these?” I was asked. “Will you sign it?” was my reply. “Hell yeah!” was the answer. That’s really the genesis of Arcade Paradise.
