Critically lambasted on release, Umbrella Corps is an odd cover-based shooter that is let down by painfully bland map design and unexciting combat. The single-player campaign is essentially a rather generic Horde mode that does little to expand Resi’s lore, while cool ideas like the Zombie Jammer are often poorly implemented. Clunky controls and unsatisfying weapons are the final nail in the coffin. Left 4 Dead did it far better.
