PICKS OF THE MONTH
DARRAN
Crow Country
This just kind of snuck up on me and I’ve had tremendous fun with it. A genuinely great survival horror gem that feels like a lost PlayStation game.
NICK
Wizardry: Proving Grounds Of The Mad Overlord
I don’t know why I didn’t expect this game to give me an absolute hiding, but it has done just that. Luckily I’m in a masochistic mood this month.
» [PlayStation 5] You’ll be able to fend off early enemies with just a melee weapon, but later foes are far more deadly.

Nightdive Studios’ ambitious remake of System Shock has certainly been a long time coming. Starting life in 2015, it had a successful Kickstarter but then hit the development doldrums as it had numerous restarts, saw its release pushed back several times and moved engine from Unity to Unreal. Thankfully, the lengthy delay has resulted in a truly exceptional remake that not only captures the essence of the 1994 game but modernises it in numerous ways as well.
