It’s easy to forget his age he celebrated his 22nd birthday the day before facing Ireland last month, a game England won 21-10 – such is the ease with which he’s stepped up to Test level. Watson has always been an early developer. He was the youngest professional to play for London Irish, making his Premiership debut at 17, and a World Cup winner before he left his teens, along with Jack Nowell,
Jack Clifford and Henry Slade at U20 level.
