Q My husband gave up drinking for
Stoptober and feels so much better he is now saying he is never going to touch another drop. I know I should be thrilled for him and pleased for health reasons, but I’m secretly very disappointed. We used to love a gin and tonic at the end of the day and a bottle of wine with dinner at the weekends. He says just because he is now teetotal doesn’t mean I can’t still have a tipple – but who wants to drink alone? I realise this is a first-world problem, but it is upsetting me and I’m now dreading Christmas because it’s just the two of us this year.
