Scottish Islands Explorer  |  November-December 2012
The Isle of Seil bridges the Atlantic Ocean and the picture on the cover shows the sea at its most benign. Muck is raked up again, in detail, and the Battle of May island shows the horrors of 'friendly fire'. Disputes on Shetland's Papa Stour have featured and this early one involves a remarkable woman. The teacher on Mingulay was also a force to be reckoned with as are the eagles which fly over Mull. For relaxation the Great Garden of Lismore and the National Trust for Scotland Cruises can be counted upon.
