PRIME If The Tomorrow War’s high-concept sounds faintly Tenet-y, don’t worry: you’re only going to be making use of about half the IQ points that Christopher Nolan’s film required.
Initially lined up for a Christmas 2020 theatrical release by Paramount, then flogged to Amazon, this likeably ludicrous sci-fi actioner puts a time travel spin on the alien invasion. In 2022, troops from the future arrive with bad news: Earth is at war with ferocious, human-munching monsters nicknamed the White Spikes (so-called because of their penchant for firing off said projectiles – so long as there are no high-value cast members nearby). It’s losing. Badly. The solution? Have thousands of troops “jump” 30 years ahead to join the fight. Then, when they’re slaughtered, start drafting selected civilians. (The criteria: will you have died by the year 2052?)
