FERRY INCIDENT
Stena Line’s ferry Stena Superfast VIII at her Cairnryan berth.
A man died after falling overboard from the Stena Line ferry Stena Superfast VIII near the port of Cairnryan in southern Scotland. The incident happened on the 1530 sailing from Belfast to Cairnryan on 1 July. Rescue crews were called to the ship in Loch Ryan at about 1750. The passenger was airlifted to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police Scotland have said that the death was not believed to be suspicious.
