KNOW HOW

USING THE RIGHT NEEDLE

For Gutermann Sew All, I use an embroidery size 10 or 12.

• For one or two strands of stranded cotton, I recommend using an embroidery needle size 10.

• For Aurifil cotton 12, use an embroidery size 7 or 9.

• For stitching size 15 seed beads, an embroidery needle size 12 is needed.

• For all surface work, such as needlelace or raised stem band, switch to a blunt needle, like a tapestry needle. I prefer to work with size 28, even with Aurifil Cotton 12 weight.

• To plunge paper-covered wires to the back, I use the chenille needle size 22.
