Free Admission As a group of 11 textile artists, the members don’t usually work to a theme, but this time they have set themselves the challenge of taking inspiration from the work of six artists, from Gustav Klimt, in the late 19th/early 20th century, through to Claire Henley in present day, with Mark Rothko, Hundertwasser, Bridget Riley and David Hockney in between. The group’s common aim is to work with fibres and fabric to promote a greater appreciation of contemporary textile art. Their techniques include hand and machine embroidery, patchwork, quilting, beadwork, weaving, collage and mixed media.
